學校簡介
里茲大學 (University of Leeds) 為英國知名的傳統紅磚大學，大學悠久的歷史可追溯至十九世紀的兩所知名院校: 專為醫學系於1831年所成立的里茲醫學學院 (Leeds School of Medicine)、以及鑒於科技快速發展於1874年所成立的約克郡科學學院 (Yorkshire College of Science)；兩所院校於1884年與曼徹斯特歐文學院和利物浦大學學院合作進而成立維多利亞聯邦大學 (Victoria University)。於1904年里茲學院由英王愛德華七世正式授予大學資格，成為獨立的學府，並正名為里茲大學。
經歷一個多世紀的發展，里茲大學已成為英國最知名的大學之一，同時校園為英國最具規模的大學之一，以優質的教學與研究評價而聞名國際，學術地位高居世界百大學府。大學的優秀師資結合廣泛的專業領域，提供多元的學習機會，對於世界文化、經濟、社會有著決定性的影響力。學校致力於研究科學與產業之間的聯繫，並將研究成果用於里茲市的發展，每年獲得的研究經費額度位列英國各大學前十位，同時校內25位教授獲得國家學術研究基金，此獲獎數量遠超過其他學校。大學每年招收近四萬名學生，包含三萬名學士生與一萬名研究生，學生數量位居英國前五大學府，學生數中約一萬名學生為來自世界170個國家的國際學生，培育出多達二十七萬的畢業校友。

環境介紹
里茲市 (Leeds) 座落於英格蘭北部的西約克郡 (West Yorkshire)，為該郡縣最具規模的城市，同時為英格蘭北部的金融與商業重鎮。里茲市源於中世紀時期艾爾河 (River Aire) 的市集城市，早期為農產品、羊毛業的主要貿易市集；伴隨工業革命的崛起，城市躍身成為工商業主流城市，並以亞麻業、工業、鐵製品、印刷產業而聞名，成為英國第三具規模的工業製造中心。自二十世紀起，里茲市以金融業、服務業、觀光產業而享有國際聲譽，並以金融業最為知名，具備僅次於首都倫敦的金融地位；此外，城市多元的經濟發展，造就極高的就業成長率，進而成為一座高效率的國際城市，並獲評為營商環境最佳的城市。
里茲市規劃便捷的鐵路系統，為英格蘭南部前往蘇格蘭的主要交通幹道與轉運中心；位於市中心的里茲火車站為倫敦區外第三繁忙的火車站，搭乘火車約三小時便可直達倫敦、約一小時可前往鄰近的曼徹斯特市與約克市 (York)。里茲市的西北方建有里茲布拉福機場 (Leeds Bradford Airport)，同時鄰近曼徹斯特國際機場 (Manchester Airport)，為連結里茲市與世界各地的門戶，城市同時設有便捷的接駁交通直達機場。
里茲市為一座風靡運動的城市，尤以傳統英式運動最為受歡迎，包含: 板球、橄欖球、足球等運動風氣皆十分盛行。里茲市擁有數間知名大學，包含: 里茲大學 (University of Leeds)、里茲貝克特大學 (Leeds Beckett University)、里茲三一大學 (Leeds Trinity University)、里茲藝術大學 (Leeds Arts University)，吸引眾多學生選擇此地進修學習，進而成為英國前五大學生熱門聚集地。

學校設施
里茲大學的校園兼具完善的教學與研究設施與良好的學習氛圍。校區內設置醫療中心、就業輔導、學生福利中心、學生宿舍、銀行、劇院、酒吧等多元服務設施。學生會組織近兩百種社團，協辦多項體育競賽、社交活動，促進文化交流，豐富學生的課外生活。
．圖書館: 里茲大學具備英國最具規模的研究圖書館之一，各學院圖書館分佈於校園各處，擁有各學科領域的專業資源，藏書近三百萬冊，包含: 逾兩千冊的電子期刊、六千冊電子書籍、近千冊的電子學術資源。其中尤以藝術與人文學院的布勞瑟頓圖書館 (Brotherton Library) 與工程科學學院的愛德華保爾圖書館 (Edward Boyle Library) 最為知名，前者位列二級學院派建築。
．資訊中心: 里茲大學設置近千台電腦設備，提供豐富的網路資源、資訊技術。學生可使用個人的戶名登入查詢各類資源、影音資訊、繳交報告。此外，語言中心配有新穎的學習設備，提供多種語言學習機會。
．運動設施: 里茲大學建有兩座大型室內體育館，設施包含: 重量訓練室、健身房、游泳池等，同時建有多座大型戶外運動場，設施包含: 羽球場、網球場、壁球場、多功能足球場。
．醫療服務: 里茲市擁有兩間主要醫院: 里茲醫院 (Leeds General Infirmary)、聖詹姆斯醫院 (St James's University Hospital)；前者以神經外科而聞名，亦為英國十大小兒心臟科醫院，後者為歐洲區最具規模的教學院區之一。兩間醫院皆為教學院區，提供醫學院的學生實習場所。
住宿相關
里茲大學的學生宿舍分為適合學士生的供餐式宿舍區、以及適合研究生的自炊式宿舍區。各區宿舍皆提供單人房、共用廚房、用餐區、自助洗衣設備、學習讀書室、音樂室、影音室。供餐式宿舍區將於固定的時間提供膳食，餐點以英式餐食為主。入住學生宿舍可享有: 宿舍費包含水電網路支出、彈性合約週期、彈性付款方式、24小時安全設施、個人物品保險、有經驗的宿舍服務中心。此外，學校提供許多校外租屋資訊，學生亦可選擇校外租屋，可享有更獨立自主的學生生活。
適合國際學生選擇的宿舍:
．Blenheim Point: 於2018年啟用的新興宿舍區，步行約10分鐘可至校區與市中心，鄰近生活商店、餐廳/咖啡廳。宿舍提供套房 (含個人衛浴)，約5至8位學生共用一間廚房。宿舍設置交宜中心、用餐區、健身房。
．Grayson Heights: 步行約30分鐘可至校區與市中心，鄰近生活商店、超市、娛樂中心。宿舍提供雅房 (約2至3位學生共用一間衛浴)，約4位學生共用一間廚房。宿舍設置自行車停放區。
．St Marks Residence: 步行約15分鐘可至市中心，鄰近校區的工程學院、生活商店、咖啡廳。宿舍提供套房 (含個人衛浴)、共用廚房。宿舍設置交宜中心 (含桌球)、用餐區、健身房。
．Royal Park Flats: 於2017年新翻修的宿舍區，步行約10分鐘可至校區，鄰近超市、餐廳/咖啡廳。宿舍提供雅房 (共用衛浴)、共用廚房。宿舍設置庭園、烤肉區。
．Shared Houses: 位於校園內的分租宿舍區，規劃21區宿舍大樓，每區宿舍約入住4至22位學生，提供雅房、套房的房型選擇。於各區宿舍步行約15分鐘可至市中心。
