PhD programmes in History may be taken by individual
research study.

Normally
applicants will be expected to have an honours degree,
preferably - though not essentially - in History.

These
programmes can be offered on a part time or a full time
basis, according to funding.

During
the first year, students may well be expected to attend
research seminars.

Assessments
of these units is normally based upon the submission
of a thesis and viva voce.

Students
are subject to the University regulations in regard
to MPhil and PhD
programmes.
